DESCRIPTION:Module FAM-01\n\n\n\nExplore the roots of Ayurveda and the philosophical frameworks that form the basis of Ayurvedic medicine. \n\n\n\nThis two-day Continuing Education module introduces the historical development of Ayurveda\, its relationship with Yoga and the Vedic traditions\, and the classical sources through which Ayurvedic knowledge has been transmitted. \n\n\n\nYou will explore key philosophical concepts from Sāṃkhya\, the Darśanas\, karma\, dharma\, the Puruṣārthas\, the three pillars of life\, natural drives\, sensory perception and the wider Vedic worldview. \n\n\n\nThe emphasis is on understanding how these philosophical principles are not abstract ideas\, but directly inform the Ayurvedic view of health\, behavior\, lifestyle and personal development. \n\n\n\nLearning Outcomes\n\n\n\nAfter completing this module\, you will be able to: \n\n\n\n\nDescribe the historical and cultural foundations of Ayurveda and its relationship with Yoga and the Vedic tradition.\n\n\n\nRecognize the principal classical Ayurvedic texts and their role in preserving and transmitting Ayurvedic knowledge.\n\n\n\nExplain key philosophical foundations of Ayurveda\, including the Darśanas\, Sāṃkhya\, Puruṣa and Prakṛti.\n\n\n\nRelate concepts such as karma\, dharma and the four Puruṣārthas to health\, behavior\, lifestyle and personal development.\n\n\n\nExplain foundational structures supporting life and health\, including āhāra\, nidrā\, brahmacarya\, natural drives and sensory perception.\n\n\n\nReflect on the Ayurvedic worldview through self-inquiry and recognize the introductory role of Jyotiṣa within the wider Vedic knowledge system.\n\n\n\n\nKey Topics\n\n\n\n\nHistorical development of Ayurveda\n\n\n\nAyurveda\, Yoga & Vedic traditions\n\n\n\nClassical Ayurvedic texts\n\n\n\nThe six Darśanas\n\n\n\nSāṃkhya philosophy\n\n\n\nPuruṣa & Prakṛti\n\n\n\nKarma\, dharma & the Puruṣārthas\n\n\n\nThe three pillars of life\n\n\n\nNatural drives & human behavior\n\n\n\nTanmātras & sensory perception\n\n\n\nSelf-inquiry & philosophical reflection\n\n\n\nIntroduction to Jyotiṣa\n\n\n\n\nFormat: 2-day module | Friday + Saturday. SUMMARY:Yoga & Ayurveda Foundation
DESCRIPTION:A 50-hour introduction to the sister sciences of Yoga and Ayurveda\, offering practical tools to support balance\, self-awareness\, and daily wellbeing.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nUnder guidance of Savitri & Riim you will learn the essentials of yoga practice\, including sun salutations\, breath and energy awareness (prana)\, bandha\, and drishti\, while exploring the first principles of yogic philosophy (Yamas & Niyamas). \n\n\n\nAlongside the yoga practice\, you will be introduced to the core concepts of Ayurveda\, including the five elements\, the three doshas\, constitution\, daily routines\, and basics of Ayurvedic nutrition. \n\n\n\nThis 3 month program  creates a supportive environment to deepen self-awareness and build a sustainable personal practice.  \n\n\n\nThis training is offered to you by Sankalpa Ayurveda College in collaboration with saktiisha Yoga Academy \n\n\n\nMonthYAF datesOctober 2026 (YAF-1)16–17 October 2026November 2026 (YAF-2)20–21 November 2026December 2026 (YAF-3)18–19 December 2026

SUMMARY:The Basic Principles of Āyurveda: Āyurvedic Anatomy and Physiology
DESCRIPTION:This module is part of the Fundamentals of Ayurvedic Medicine programme and introduces the core principles of Ayurvedic anatomy and physiology.
