The Fundamentals of Ayurvedic Medicine (FAM) is a 12-month foundation program designed for anyone who wants to explore Ayurveda for personal growth and transformation. Whether you are completely new to Ayurveda or already familiar and ready to deepen your practice, this program provides both theoretical knowledge and practical tools to support your own healing journey.

Admission requires that the prospective student:
- Is prepared not only to study and learn, but also to develop personally and spiritually.
- Is at least eighteen years old. Exceptions are possible after consultation with the examination board.
- Is in possession of at least a high school diploma of HAVO, VWO diploma or an MBO 4 (or equivalent certification for international students). Exceptions are possible after consultation with the examination board.
- Has a good command of the English language, both spoken and written.
- Undergoes a personal intake interview;
- Enrolls via the online registration form, with which the student also confirms that he/she has received and read the study guide, the education, the examination regulations and the general terms and conditions;
- Meets the minimum requirements to participate in distance learning.

1. Do I need prior knowledge of Ayurveda to join?
No prior experience is required. The FAM program is designed for beginners as well as those who already have some familiarity with Ayurveda and wish to deepen their understanding.
2. What is the study format?
The program is blended: combined with guided self-study and practice. Once a month we hold live classes. You can follow the live classes fully online via zoom (with exception of the Ayurvedic Massage workshop). Each month Saturday classes are live at the school. If not living in Netherlands you can join online.
3. How much time do I need to study each week?
On average, students spend 6–8 hours per week, including live classes, self-study, and practice. This may vary depending on your personal learning pace and background in Ayurveda.
4. What certification will I receive?
After completing the FAM program, you receive a Certificate of Completion for the Fundamentals of Ayurvedic Medicine. You can continue your studies to become a certified Ayurvedic Health Counselor (AHC) or Practitioner (AP).
5. What is included in the tuition?
Tuition covers all classes, course materials, access to LMS, recorded lectures, mentoring, and participation in sangha community events. Textbook and workbook journal is included.
6. Can I continue working while studying?
Yes. The program is designed to be flexible and suitable for students who combine their studies with work or family responsibilities.
7. What are the admissions requirements?
To be admitted, prospective students must:
- Be willing not only to study but also to engage in personal and spiritual development
- Be at least 18 years old (exceptions may be made after consultation with the examination board)
- Hold at least a secondary education diploma (HAVO, VWO, or MBO 4, or equivalent international certification). If you do not meet this requirement, admission can be discussed with the examination board
- Have a good command of English, both spoken and written (all teaching materials are in English)
- Participate in a personal intake interview
- Register via the online registration form, confirming that they have received and read the Study Guide, Education Regulations, Examination Regulations, and General Terms and Conditions
- Meet the minimum technical requirements for distance learning
8. In which language is the program offered?
The program is available in both Dutch (January & September start) and English (April & October start).
