October 9 @ 9:30 am – October 10 @ 4:30 pm
Module FAM-01
Explore the roots of Ayurveda and the philosophical frameworks that form the basis of Ayurvedic medicine.
This two-day Continuing Education module introduces the historical development of Ayurveda, its relationship with Yoga and the Vedic traditions, and the classical sources through which Ayurvedic knowledge has been transmitted.
You will explore key philosophical concepts from Sāṃkhya, the Darśanas, karma, dharma, the Puruṣārthas, the three pillars of life, natural drives, sensory perception and the wider Vedic worldview.
The emphasis is on understanding how these philosophical principles are not abstract ideas, but directly inform the Ayurvedic view of health, behavior, lifestyle and personal development.
